Mitch in the Mix

A few turns, a few detours, and a lot of music.

How I Got Here

I started spinning vinyl for my local university radio station at 17, back when hard house and trance anthems were very much my thing. My musical tastes have taken a few turns since then, and these days I’m more likely to be found exploring chill grooves, melodic deep house and progressive sounds. Turns out, musical taste isn’t necessarily a fixed destination.

These days, I’m influenced by the sounds coming out of labels like Anjunadeep, Purified Records, Monstercat Silk and Enormous Chills. It’s that combination of melody, atmosphere and a groove that draws you in that really appeals to me.

What You'll Find Here

Mitch in the Mix is where I share that side of my musical life.

It’s primarily about DJing: the music I’m playing, the mixes I’m putting together, and the tracks that catch my attention along the way. I’ve also spent some time exploring music production, which has given me a new appreciation for what goes into making the music I love listening to.

Still Exploring

I’m still exploring, still learning, and still occasionally disappearing down musical rabbit holes. Some lead somewhere interesting. Others lead to a playlist with an alarming number of tracks in it.

Either way, there’s usually music involved.

Mixes are on the way — in the meantime, if something here resonates, say hello.
